Area Description
Situated just south of Disney Celebration, Thousand Oaks is the ideal base for an Orlando holiday. Just 2 miles from ChampionsGate at J58 on the I-4 which takes you to Disney, Sea World, Universal Studios and into Orlando. Disney main gate being under 15 minutes away. Busch Gardens and the Gulf Coast to the west and Daytona Beach and Kennedy Space Center to the east are readily accessible. We are also on the Old Lake Wilson Road; this takes you straight up to the 192, which is the main highway through Kissimmee with it's many restaurants, attractions and shops. 3 such restaurants, The Golden Corral, Ponderosa & Sizzlers, are all situated around the Junction with the 192 and all do super breakfast buffets which will set you up for a day in the Theme Parks. The northern entrance of Thousand Oaks takes you to the newly landscaped 532 with Palm Trees lining the road and on to ChampionsGate. We now have 2 Publix Supermarkets, The established one at ChampionsGate and the new Publix in the Ovation Shopping Center at the intersection of Old Lake Wilson Road and CR532. Also at Ovation we have a McDonalds Drive through, plus Subway, Papa John's Pizza and Chinese Takeaways. We have a CVS Pharmacy, Pizza Hut, Chinese Takeaway and 7-Eleven Gas Station on the opposite corner of the junction and further down the 532 at ChampionsGate another 7-Eleven and BP GStations plus a Walgreens Pharmacy and Blockbuster. There are also several restaurants at ChampionsGate, the largest being the 240 seater Chili's Grill and Bar. McDonalds have a drive through and eat in restaurant plus there is a Chinese, China One, French, La Crepe and Italian, Pepperon' Pizzeria restaurants. Both Ovation and ChampionsGate have Banks and ATM facilities should you need them. The Southern entrance of Thousand Oaks is on the SR 54. Turn right takes you to the US-27, past the Chevron Gas Station about a mile down the road where you will find a Food Mart and take away serving Pizzas, chicken and fish & chips. Turning left takes you past the Post Office, to the US-17/92 (turn right for Poinciana and Kissimmee). There are new developments at the junction of 54 and the 17/92 with a Sports Bar and Retail shop units planned. Our villa is situated at the top end of the 40 acre lake The lake together with the generous sized plots, and wooded preserves gives Thousand Oaks its charm and provides a tranquil respite from the activity in the Theme parks.
