Property Description Bookmark and Share

A peaceful hillside spot high above Gaios is the attractive setting for this newly built traditional stone house. It has an incomparable view looking over the red-tiled roofs of the town below, over the sea to the mountains of the Greek mainland rising steeply in the distance, and towards Italy to the west.

The raised position allows sea breezes to cool the hottest summer days and many rooms in this comfortable house open onto the terraces and the panorama they offer. As well as being a few minutes from Gaios, the bustling captial Paxos, the village of Magazia is also just a short drive away, with its bakery, shop and traditional kafenion.

Local Activities

Swimming

Windsurfing

Daily excursions to Anti Paxos, with its beautiful beaches and restaurants. By fast motor boat (10 minutes).

Walking; there are very good walks with stunning views all round the Island, you are never far away from a small village or hamlet. The West coast has amazing high cliffs and wonderful views. The East coast is gentle and undulating. The island is an endless olive grove, terraced with stonewalls with many of the olives planted during Venetian rule. There are around 150 old stone olive-presses, 63 chapels and several windmills. Only 10 km long and 4 km wide, the island is easily walkable and The Bleasdale Walking Map of Paxos, available from many shops, details 53 footpaths.
