Property Description

“Kritiko Arhontiko” is one of the oldest houses of the area. It was the residence of the Turkish chief (Passa) of the territory and it had been built before 1840. The renovation was made with great respect to the old architecture.

In “Kritiko Arhontiko” we offer you all the comforts you need to enjoy carefree and pleasant vacation.Kritiko Arhontiko can entertain 4-8 individuals. The date of its manufacture is a little before 1840. With high attention, care and respect in the authentic architecture of the house, we proceed in the restoration and the renovation of the house.

Living Area

In the main space there is the reception, the living room with the television, a second living room in front of the fireplace and the dining room. We selected all the furniture very carefully so they are as close as it can to the original furnishing of the house.
The entire house is air-conditioned (cold-heat). If you choose “Kritiko Arhontiko” for your winter holidays you can use the fireplace for creating warm and romantic atmosphere. We offer you the woods.
If you wish to spend some time inside the house you can watch TV (local and satellite channels) or see a movie on DVD or listen to music (radio or cd).

Kitchen Facilities

The kitchen contains a two doors refrigerator, electric kitchen, dish machine, coffee machine etc for making breakfast and meals. If you like traditional way of cooking you can use the oven with woods or barbeque, which are in the big yard of the house.

Outside

In the big yard of the house you can enjoy the private swimming pool with the view to Lefka Oroi in where you can enjoy unlimited time of relaxation. Beside the yard there is parking for your car. As a sample of the traditional Cretan hospitality we offer, as a goodbye gift, a bottle of Cretan drink called tsikoudia and a vase with Cretan honey.

Suitability

Either you want quiet vacation without a lot of locomotion or you want to tour in Crete, Kritiko Arhontiko is your unique choice. Exploit the natural beauty and make a walk on foot in the around hills with oaks and cypresses. In 5 and 15 min, by car,respectively the villages Almyrida and Kalives are found. In them you can enjoy your swimming in their sandy beaches and eat in one of the fish restaurants. Also you can shop from the Super Markets and from the shops with popular art and souvenirs. In these villages you will find also a lot of cafeterias, Bars and Clubs for your nightly amusement. After 10 min by car you meet the village Gavalohori acquaintance for his Historical museum and the traditional taverns. In 15 min is found the Vamos village that allocates Centre of Health and in 20 min meets the Red Village with the splendid under see caverns ideal place for dives and fishing. For more distant ways directed East we meet in 20 min the natural lake of Kourna, In 25 min found the cosmopolitan resort of Georgioupoli with the supremacy beach and a lot of shops and in 30 min the graphic city of Rethimno with the splendid old city that deserves your visit. Going westwards to the city of Chania, 20 min by car, visit the old city and the Venetian port and admire unique beauty of the old lighthouse.
