Local Activities

Things to do in and around Paphos and Cyprus,

After you have relaxed around the pool and soaked

up some rays, there are plenty of things to fill your time.

Water Sport, the safe, clear, warm waters around Cyprus

mean that water sports can be enjoyed all year round making

the island an ideal destination for those who enjoy swimming,

sailing, yachting, surfing, diving and water skiing. Qualified instructors

are available, if required, to teach those skills at all levels.

- Hiking - The best time for this is in the autumn but the winter can also be a good

choice thanks to the mild temperatures. Many hiking trails are found in the akamas

area near polis and the region around paphos, such as the Avakas Gorge.

- Cycling For those who prefer wheels to walking, the island can be discovered by

cycling along many interesting trails, especially on the Akamas Peninusula and the hills

of the Troodos massif. Mountain bikes are for rental are available in all tourist resorts.

- Golf enthusiasts can choose from two proffesional courses on the island: the Tsada

Golf north of Paphos and the Secret Valley east of Paphos.

- Horse riding can be great fun for all levels. Early morning rides are the norm as it gets

too hot at any other time. You can go for a canter in the forest or a gentle stroll along the

beach and sea caves.

ITHAKI MINI GOLF COURSE

We all had great fun at Ithaki mini golf course ages

ranging from 5 to 65 when we visited the American

designed 18 hole mini golf course. There are

bumper cars next door that are also great fun.

With a bar area, with pool table and all sorts of games

you can sit inside or out in the garden and enjoy a

cool drink. You will find this Golf Course in Coral Bay.

Find the Ippopotamus Restaurant and turn up

that road you will easly see the golf course about 50

yards up on the left.

SNAKE GEORGE’S REPTILE PARK

The reptile park can be found on the main road past

Coral Bay to Agios Georgios. On the right you will see

a Service Station and the reptile park is situated to

the rear. Enjoy refreshments at the service station and

talk over your experience with the reptiles. Snake George

is very knowledgeable about reptiles and often goes out

on call to collect unwanted guest from the local people.

He will pass on his knowledge to you so you are aware

of the saftey and how to avoid areas that snakes may

occupy. The fee to enter the park is very small and is

well worth the cost. George has a fascinating display

of snakes and lizards and is more than happy to show

you around and tell you a few tales. Every visit to the park

we have handled snakes and lizards. It is really worth a visit.

FUNBUS

A fun day out for all the family or there is an half day

tour around Paphos in the original fun bus. The bus is

an old Bedford bus. The full day expedition

Cypriot meal will be served. Sensible shoes are advisable

and take your swimwear for a cool off at Adonis Waterfalls.

You will find on any main street places to book tours, Check out the itinery first as they may vary depending on the weather

Paphos go-karting is a must it has a great track and is the biggest

on the island, the more adventurous ones are able to take a step up and

drive a twin engine kart, whilst the smaller children have thier own track,

or you can simply have a drink and have fun watching them crash!

Aphrodiates water park is well worth a visit, you can spend the whole day there and

enjoy the never boring slides, some for the extreme lovers and some for the peaceful natured.

- Food, Eating is the Cypriots favourite pastime they just love food

Kopiaste - sit down with us, eat and drink with us, be welcome! The traditional

meze meal makes sampling very simple; it consists of hot and cold dishes providing

a tasty sample of cypriots cuisine. Fish and meat dishes, even vege-tables, are frequently roasted on the charcoal grill or in a large dome shaped clay ovens.
