Casa McElroy a duplex villa is situated in the private Las Piteras complex centrally located on the Avenida de Las Islas Canarias in Costa Teguise - fifteen minutes from the airport at Arrecife. The complex is in close proximity to all shops and restaurants and 4 minutes walk from the main Cucharas beach.

No 9 is a two bedroom duplex with a large front and rear patio. The communal pool is large and there is plenty of space for sunbathing. There is also a smaller children's pool and gardens. Bed linen and towels are provided with weekly maid service.

On the ground floor the french doors in the lounge open onto the front patio and the ground floor living area also includes dining area and fully fitted kitchen. The large patio in the rear garden is ideal for sunbathing and includes barbeque, patio furniture and external lighting for "el fresco" dining.

There is also a downstairs bathroom and utility room.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and french windows with views over the gardens, pools and to the mountains beyond. The second bedroom has two single beds and both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes. The main bathroom is also upstairs.
Owners tips:
These restaurants all serve good food:

Las Maretas
Located opposite Las Piteras in the Centro Commercial Maretas ? pre booking essential (0034 928 59 00 78)

Kerman/Lapikada
Recently opened tapas bar and restaurant - two locations close to the complex. Excellent food and well priced. Also does take away.

Angelo's
Located ten minutes walk along the promenade past the Occidental hotel. As you arrive at the Toledo restaurant on your left look up the hill to your right and you will see three restaurants in a row. Angelo's is on the right. The best home made pasta and pizza I have tasted at very reasonable prices.

El Patio
Located in Pueblo Marinero ? Italian ? good for fish

The Steak House
Mexican and ordinary steak menu - Pueblo Marinero - excellent food.

Toledo Restaurant
Located ten minutes walk along the promenade past the Occidential hotel. Outstandingly beautiful location on the seashore. Mostly open terraces. Also excellent for coffee, lunch or just a watering hole stop off.

Ticino
Swiss restaurant located in Pueblo Marinero - good food

Vesubio
Beautiful situation overlooking Playa Jabillo - good food

Coffee suggestions -
Bruno's - opposite the Tourist Office
Helga's in Pueblo Marinero
Cafe Bonjour - turn right just past Bruno's

Special Occasion dining:
Try Meson La Jordana for international cuisine or Montmartre for fine French cooking in Costa Teguise or the five star Gran Hotel restaurant in Arrecife where you can enjoy the spectacular views from the 16th floor while enjoying fine food and wine.

Wind Surfing:
If you are keen on water sports or would like to try and learn to wind surf the main beach, Playa de las Cucharas, in Costa Teguise is just the place. Board hire and lessons are available from a number of surf shops.

Golfers:
Costa Teguise Golf offers golf enthuiasts an 18 hole course that is superbly maintained all year round. It was designed by British landscape architect John Harris in 1978. The course is designed to be both smooth and varied. Its numerous doglegs stimulate players and bring all clubs into play. Green fees are 68? high season and 55? low season. Special offers and provision of golf clubs can be negotiated. Further details can be found at,

Walking and Treking
If you are a keen walker then Lanzarote offers some great walking and treking routes across its unique landscape. The best months for this type of holiday are November to February when it is a little cooler. The property owner can provide you with details of 35 different routes, all clearly mapped and graded from very easy to strenuous. Many of them can be accessed by public transport.

Fishing
If your hobby is fishing then Lanzarote has lots to offer. For basic fishing along the coastline, light tackle is all you will need. You are likely to catch the local black damselfish, the tiny ornate wrasse, small silver bogues and perhaps small sea bream. If you want a bit more fun, especially in the last few months of the year, try a bubble float and an unweighted strip of squid or half a prawn and see if you can connect with a garfish. Bread is the best bait for the abundant grey mullet and hooks must be tiny. But if you really want excitement, there's nothing for it except to charter or hire a place on a sport fishing boat. Area Description

Situated on the coast in the central part of the island, Costa Teguise is one of Lanzarote?s main tourist resorts.

It is only a 20 minute drive from Arrecife Airport and is a convenient place from which to explore the islands tourist and cultural attractions, as well as the northern fishing villages of Arrieta and Orzola.

The island?s historic capital of Teguise is a 10 to 15 minute drive away and provides a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of Costa Teguise, unless of course you go on a Sunday, when the market is in full swing.

History and Development
Costa Teguise is a purpose built resort, which started to take shape in the 1970s. This fact should not put you off, as it's development has been carefully managed over the years. It is currently undergoing something of a revival with many of the older developments being refurbished.
