Property Description

Set in to the hillside in the unspoilt secluded hamlet of Nanternis, Frondeg is a perfect base for walkers and nature lovers with the lane just opposite the cottage joining a footpath leading to the coastal path. The footpath follows the course of the river through woodland, past a waterfall and then opens out into National Trust land before you reach Cwmsilio Bay. From here you can walk either north or south along the incredibly scenic coastal path, where you may be lucky enough to spot seals and dolphins.

Frondeg is a detached cottage sleeping 6 adults (plus cot, plus 2/sofa bed/by arrangement) in 1 double and 2 twin rooms. The bathroom has a bath and separate shower and there is another WC downstairs.

Large quarry tiled country kitchen/diner with a table seating 6 people and a high chair provided. There is an oil fired rayburn stove and electric fan cooker, dishwasher and larder fridge. In the utility room there is a fridge freezer, washing machine and microwave. The large living room has two comfortable sofas (one is a sofa bed), 26" flat screen TV, DVD player, CD player and woodburning stove. A supply of logs is stored in the lounge by the wood burner so it is not necessary to carry them in. Linen is provided, but please bring your own towels.

Electricity is included - storage heaters in the lounge and the 3 bedrooms. Logs are provided from October to end of April and by arrangement with the owners between May and September to keep you warm on chilly nights. There is parking outside in the lane for 3 cars and a garage nearby.

The garden is set out in terraces and has a seating area and a barbecue and is secure for dogs to explore. Up to 2, well behaved dogs are permitted (free), more dogs may be allowed by arrangement. Large dogs only permitted at the discretion of the cottage owner. A pet cage can be provided if required. No smoking in the cottage. The owners live 1 mile away and are available to give advice or help if needed.

Saturday changeover. Short breaks/long weekends may be available during off peak weeks. Please contact the owner.

Book online but don't pay now, although you will need to pay the deposit to the owner. A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking; the balance should be paid 4 weeks before the start of the holiday. Please also include a separate payment for breakage deposit of £50 (refundable after inspection). Please pay the deposit within 7 days. Payment methods accepted: cheque. We will send you an email with this information when you book.

Area Description

Frondeg is just 2 miles south of New Quay on the west coast of Wales. New Quay is equidistant between the coastal market towns of Aberystwyth and Cardigan within the heart of Cardigan Bay. This area is of special interest to walkers and nature lovers and during the spring and summer months it is abundant with wild flowers including orchids.

We are prepared to transport walkers to a starting point so they can then walk back to the cottage if needed. The cottage is also on marked cycle routes and there is a lockable garage available nearby to put cycles.
