Property Description

Casa Tranquila is conveniently situated within easy reach of Javea, Denia and Moraira in the Alicante province of Valencia, Costa Blanca. It is ideal for either one or two couples or a family, with one large bedroom with super king bed and en suite bathroom and a smaller bedroom with twin beds and a small en suite shower room. The apartment is pleasantly cool in summer and warm in winter but there is air con in the bedrooms for those extra hot days and central heating for the winter months. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped for self catering with plenty of room for dining although for much of the year it is pleasant to eat "al fresco" on the sunny terrace by the pool. The living room is comfortably furnished with a TV for Spanish channels and a DVD player plus games, jigsaws and books.

The swimming pool is large and deep, a swimmers pool, and has the added benefit of being cleaned by a saline system so chemical use is minimal. A table and chairs are provided for dining outside and there are plenty of sun loungers and a large umbrella plus plenty of dense shade. The pool area is perfect for relaxing and catching up on the latest best sellers.

The villa is situated in an enviable position bordering the Montgo Natural Park in a highly prestigious area of select villas. The views of the Montgo are spectacular at all times of the day but particularly at sunset. The villa has a roof terrace offering 360 degree views - the perfect place to take a drink and watch the sun go down.

While Casa Tranquila is ideal for one or two week holidays it is also available for short breaks and bed and breakfast accommodation can also be arranged (minimum 2 nights). Please note that there is a generous discount for 2 people renting - the price given is for 4 people. Please enquire for couple and bed and breakfast rates and also for the short break price.

Area Description

Casa Tranquila is blessed with dramatic views of the Montgo mountain to the north and of the valley with sierras in the distance to the south. Being south facing the villa benefits from maximum sunshine and is sheltered in the winter thus perfect for an off season / winter sunshine break. Javea has an outstanding sunshine record and enjoys mild, dry winters and pleasantly warm, rarely unbearably hot, summers. The countryside is green with oranges, almonds and vines flourishing here.

Within 10 minutes drive are two golf clubs - Javea and La Sella. This area of the Costa Blanca is renowned for cycling with professional cyclists training here. The road surfaces are smooth and pot hole free, the terrain varies from flat to steep mountain climbs and the motorists are used to driving on roads with cyclists. Each town has at least one cycling club. Road bikes can be hired for 20 euros per day or bring your own (Monarch charge 40 euros return) and there is safe storage at the villa plus recommended cycle routes are available for guests. There are tennis courts at La Sella and a private court nearby that is available for rent. The area offers some beautiful walks, diving, a sailing school, a horse riding school plus excellent bars and restaurants at very affordable prices.

The cities of Alicante and Valencia are both worthy of a day trip and are easily reached by car or train, as is Benidorm which is only 30 minutes away. Other notably towns are Calpe, Altea and Villajoyosa while the mountains to the west offer pleasant drives and pretty villages to explore.

Javea has a pleasant old town, a thriving port with marina and small fishing fleet and also the Arenal area with its wide and sheltered sandy beach and a wealth of bars and restaurants catering for all tastes and budgets.

Fiestas are highlights of the year in all the nearby towns starting with the Three Kings on the 6th January, Fallas in Denia ending on the 19th March, Santa Semana (Valencia). In Javea there are various small fiestas throughout the year but the main one is the town fiesta - 2 weeks leading up to the 22nd June which brings bull running, bonfire jumping, corre foc (running with fire) and spectacular fire works. For the week ending around July 19th there is the Moors and Chrisitans celebration in the Port and the Port has another fiestal during the first week of September. Each town has its own fiesta days and weeks so if you miss Javea's there will invariably be one in a nearby town.
