Property Description

Collina is a beautiful house that was once part of a local convent and at some point during the 15century converted into a house. Many reminders of the nuns cells are still in existance in the surrounding property, with the remains of a cell window still standing in the cellar of Casa Collina. The house is situated on a narrow cobbled lane that traffic cannot negotiate so your peace and tranquility are guaranteed. From the rear terrace the views are quite spectacular over the surrounding countryside, looking straight across the casentino valley to neighbouring Strada and Poppi.The village consitsts of some 20 odd houses which are still owned by Italains, many having been in their family for generations and these people love to welcome our guests from all around the world and include them in any local activities that may be taking place such a banquets to celebrate Saints Days

Local Activities

Golf, hill walking and cycling are the main activities in surrounding areas but also available is horse riding and bird watching. The local golf course at Poppi is said to be magnificent and the views quiet stunning. There are many local village to visit, each having it's own character and places of interest - these include the local hill town of Poppi with its splendid castle some 5 minutes away, Bibbiena a little further around 20 mins away boast winding cobbled streets and quaint shops of or a visit to the sanctuary at La Verna is only 30 mins away and lunch can be taken whilst listening to the resident monks chanting.
