The area abounds in beaches with a quiet clean sandy beach just 500 metres from the cottage! The longest beach in Ireland stretches from the Maharees westwards through There is a Blue Flag beach in the Maharees. All of the beaches are sandy, and many are suitable for surfing and other watersports. The sea water is clean throughout the entire area. Within Walking Distance Castlegregory is an ideal base from which to tour the Ring of Kerry, Dingle Peninsula and regional cities Cork and Limerick. For those who wish to enjoy the outdoor life, the Castlegregory area is richly adorned with beaches, mountains and lakes.
