Property Description

Les Alouettes is charming early 19th century cottage, situated in a quiet hamlet in rural Brittany in the gorgeous area of Ille-et-Vilaine. It has all the original features you would expect, together with all the modern conveniences and comfort you would expect in your own home. The property also benefits from a large, inground heated pool (5m x 10m) which is heated from April to October, and there are 2 acres of lawned grounds which are ideal for playing games.
There are 2 double bedrooms (one downstairs), and one large family room with two twin beds and bunk beds room. The living area is an open plan kitchen/dining/living area, and there is UK satellite TV and unlimited wifi.
Outside there is a boules court, football goal, badminton, swings and slide, trampoline and we also have 10 bikes which you are welcome to borrow for local bike rides.
We accept well behaved pets.

Area Description

The house is located in a fascinating part of France, on the border between Brittany and Normandy. It benefits from the peace and tranquility of the countryside, but is only 45 minutes from the wonderful, uncrowded sandy beaches of the Emerald coast. Must sees in the area are St Malo, Dinan, Fougères and Mont St Michel, all which are under 45 mins drive from the house. The location is also only an hour and a half from the Normandy beaches and Bayeux.
For younger children, there is the Aquarium at St Malo, La Bourbansais zoo, two water parks and many other activities. The beautiful forest of Villecartier with it's lovely walks, boating lake and tree walking is only 10 minutes drive away.
