Area Description

Fuerteventura, about 90 kms from the coast of Africa, is the second largest of the Canary Islands (Tenerife being the biggest).

Most visitors first view of this volcanic island is on landing at the modern airport. The impression is one of a barren, almost lunar-like, landscape. However, first impressions can be deceptive and if you are prepared to explore and observe, you will find an island of bizarre natural beauty.
