Property Description

Our two charming and lovingly restored 15th Century Perigordian cottages are situated on the edge of a calm hamlet in the heart of the Parc Naturel Regional Perigord Limousin. The location offers the opportunity to mix relaxation, sightseeing and exercise in the knowledge that your tranquil and welcoming retreat is never far away. We are confident that the beautiful environment and wealth of areas of interest will provide numerous choices to make each day different and memorable. Quite simply, what we offer here is a lovely, generous slice of French Life!

Living Area

Le Brulot and L'Herminette (each sleeps 4+)
The cottages have numerous period features including fireplaces, stone work, oak beams and chestnut flooring. Each cottage has similar accommodation comprising

Ground floor (accessed by traditional stone steps)
Spacious open plan living area with comfortable sofa and chairs. DVD TV.
Satellite TV, Internet access and wood burner in L'Herminette.

First floor
Bedroom 1 with a double bed wardrobe and chest of drawers
Bedroom 2 with 2 single beds chest of drawers and wardrobe
Shower room with wash hand basin and WC
In La Brulot both bedrooms have en suite shower rooms

We are ideally positioned for walking, canoeing, swimming,golf, fishing and relaxing. It is also possible to visit Limoges, Cognac, Bergerac and the wine region of Bordeaux. Quite simply you have a choice of many options.

Other Information

The village of St Barthelemy De Bussiere 1km away and has super value traditional restaurant and post office. The recreational lake at St Mathieu is 5km , has a beach with picnic area & benches and restaurant.
There is a large choice of good local restaurants all offering value for money.
The town of Piégut, 5kms, has a huge Wednesday morning market and all facilities.
The nearest major town of Nontron, has a market every Saturday morning, good supermarkets and historic buildings to visit.
Brantôme, the Venice of the Dordogne is a 30min drive away, a stunning town surrounded by the River Dronne. The Friday morning market is a popular place to visit, choice of restaurants, château & caves. Take a boat trip around the town or canoe/kayak down river to Bourdeilles.
The Grottes de Villars,with their huge limestone caves are close by.
Périgueux, Angoulême and Limoges are towns which all have Roman remains at the centre and well worth a visit for shopping/ sightseeing.
Well worth a visit is Oradour-sur-Glane, the site of a WW2 massacre, the village has been left untouched.
