Just outside (2km) the medieval village of Palaia a house called 'Il Leccione' is situated. You can reach the house via an unpaved but good road. The former 'casa colonica' (farmers house) is totally private for the guests. It has a nice garden with large wooden table under the old 'Leccione' (stone oak) and a nice swimming pool with much privacy around the house. 'Leccione' has a small and a large apartment, but is rented out as a whole, offering 12 sleeps.

This large Tuscan house with much privacy is a perfect place for groups or families who want to spend their holidays together.

Local Activities

The splendid medieval little town Palaia (900 inhabitants) has much activity. One imagines oneself in the past, when one sees the old crafts, practiced in the village. There are shops, some bars, terraces, restaurants, a 'gelateria' (ice-cream), pizzeria, postoffice, bank etc. without the village losing its authenticity.

In the middle of the village is the 'Rocca' a rock, that one can climb and from where one has a splendid view. Just a little outside of Palaia there is the church 'Pieve di San Martino'. The panoramic views in and around Palaia are fabulous.

In the surroundings of Palaia beautiful walks can be made. Tenants get descriptions for these walks, a map, and tips for restaurants, markets, dinners at home of individuals, cook at your home adress, tasting of Tuscan dishes etc.
