Suitability

We have had the same family from Germany two years in a row. If you are looking for night clubs and the like. Look elsewhere. This island is so special it makes you want to come back.

Local Activities

Airports: There are two close airports. The island is about 50 minutes from Tampa International Airport, and 25 minutes from Sarasota/Bradenton Airport.

Beaches: 4 blocks to sandy white beaches.

Theme Parks: One hour to Busch Gardens, about two hours and 20 minutes to Orlando, and the Disney World, Epcot and other theme parks. (Close, but not too close...)

Shopping/dining out: Five minutes to local antique stores and island shops, 25 minutes to Longboat Key/St. Armands Circle (excellent high-end shops)

Getting around: On the island everything is close by. Hop on the free trolly-style buses, which stop at the street corner (amazingly convenient) and let someone else do the driving. Bikes are great fun and great excercise. Of course a car provides air conditioned comfort and access to those attractions a bit further afield.

Fishing from 3 piers, boating, deep sea fishing and the like.

Love the house - the wagon, beach chairs, high-quality beach towels, location, quiet, good value. Keys were right where they were supposed to be.

Thoughts for next year - new shower curtain [Joel speaking -shower curtain was fine it gotten dirty and someone failed to properly clean it], maybe some tupperware type plastic bowls with lids [Joel speaking - done], porch awning of some sort over the grill and picnic table [Joel speaking -coming].

Hoping to return next year.

Thanks for all, Joel

Take care,

Lin

Joel,
> Sorry to be so tardy checking in with you - still recovering from a
> GREAT time -- in no small part because your house was fanatastic, and
> all the arrangements were seamless.
> I know we mentioned a discount for cleaning, and I'm not sure how you feel about that. We were NOT able to clean and dry the sheets and towels because we left so early Thursday AM. We certainly could have gotten up earlier, so I completely understand if you needed to utilize the management service.
> My hope is that we left the house cleaner than we found it, and that the next guests enjoyed it as much as we did. It was just the right spot.

Joel,

Just wanted to say THANK YOU again! We are in love with Songbird and the island! I'm trying to talk my mother and father-in-law into going there next Jan and Feb instead of Bonita. It's just so relaxing and beautiful.

I'm attaching a few new photos for you. I loved the new bedding and the bathroom color and shower curtain! We also left you a little gift.....it was a sofa cover that we hadn't used for over a year with the staging business. So there's a picture of that too.

Thanks, Joel, I'll tell Shawn, Kate and Ravi. BTW: We cleaned up your house and Ravi scrubbed the floor. We had a great time and decided that the best places to eat dinner are the dumpy pier restaurants. Great food and fantastic ocean views. Rotten Ralph's was good, but I liked the Rod & Reel pier better. Mr. Bones BBQ was really good. Only problem with Anna Maria island food is that there is no Indian restaurant there. Not a hot thing in sight except hot sauce and that isn't even hot. We boated 2 days in a row with Capt. Kathe [apt. Kim's charters] and had a great time watching manatees and dophins. I ended up with a rash from sand bar hopping. Probably sea lice or something. Ravi had it too, but not as bad. You should probably warn people about that. Your cleaning lady called on Sunday and asked when we were leaving and I told her at 5 AM and she laughed. I hope we can go again. Carolyn

Hi Joel,

We're back from Anna Maria island. After a fantastic trip to the west coast of Florida with family reunions and all, we wanted to let you know how great your accommodations were. Great location, all the conveniences of home, space, clean, laundry, close to shopping, 4 blocks from the beach, we couldn't have asked for better or for more.

Thank you very much, we had a great time and it comes highly recommended.

Best regards,

Charlotte & Peter
