Casa Lucia is an old olive press beautifully converted into 10 cottages, set in glorious gardens with a unique swimming pool decorated with mosaics. Each unit varies in size and design, but all are comfortable and retain the old beams, clay tile roofs and thick stone walls which keep them cool in summer, warm in winter. The place is peaceful and relaxing; people of all nationalities and ages return year after year; children are safe and free; groups feel at ease; people on their own are not lonely. No TV (except in reception for specials such as the Olympics and Euro 2008), no telephone (except in reception); no air conditioning for our own health and the planet's; plenty of books, fresh air, green grass, lovely flower scents, books, birdsong, stars at night - now that's a real holiday.

I have had an absolutely smashing week after about a 20 year gap. I have fallen in love with the island all over again, have met some lovely people in the idyllic gardens - such a beautiful place.
