Property Description

La Maison des Lys is a 'Maison de Maître' or merchant's house built in 1817, just 200 metres from the town square in Valence sur Baïse, a bastide village dating from 1274, perched on a bluff above the River Baïse and 8 km from the Armagnac market town of Condom. There is an enormous range of historical sites, wineries, charming towns and villages all within a short drive.

We have three spacious bedrooms each with a stylish modern bath or shower room. Breakfast is taken on most days in the shade of the garden's east-facing terrace, built into the town's ramparts. Choose from orange juice, cereals, softly boiled farm eggs with crusty French bread, baked fresh that morning in Valence's artisan bakers, croissants, ‘pains au chocolat’, creamy butter and home-made jams. A cafetière of coffee, a pot of tea or hot chocolate help start the day.

We can provide our guests with individual routes to explore and help them get the most from this beautiful part of France, basking in its peaceful lifestyle amongst gently rolling hillsides covered in vines, fields full of sunflowers and numerous ancient and historic houses, villages and towns.
