Property Description

This apartment is in the location of the old grain store, above the mill room of the lower mill. El Granero has two bedrooms and a fully equipped bathroom with bath, shower and bidet. The spacious sitting room/dining area and kitchen are open plan and lead on to a large covered terrace overlooking the waterfall. The house is equipped for up to four guests with one double and one twin bedroom.

The terrace is a beautiful place to sit and watch the varied wildlife in the river and woods. Its position, built into the rock and close to the river ensures that this house stays refreshingly cool in the hot summer months.

We have the bar located in the mill room complete with old mill machinery, internet access and UK television. Above this is the restaurant serving evening meals from a range of traditional Spanish dishes. In the lower mill, dating from the 16th century, is the gym, library and tourism information centre while the favourite place for most guests in the long hot summer days is the large pool which uses an eco friendly system to clean the water, reducing the chemicals required and making the water silky smooth.

The nearest village, 2.5 km away, is Zagra with shops, banks, bars, restaurants, swimming pool and castle. Zagra embodies the charm of Spain as it has been for decades. The area is known as El Poniente Granadino and is rich in evidence of Andalucia's Moorish past with castles and watchtowers (atalayas) ever present on the horizon. The location of this mill, in the heart of rural inland Andalucia, southern Spain, is within easy reach of Granada with the Alhambra and Albaicin, Malaga, Seville and Cordoba.
