Property Description

Galati is a beautiful and secluded hilltop villa. Extremely quiet and peaceful with stunning views of rolling countryside. The three independent apartments, Tramontana and Scirocco 80 sm each and Maestrale 45 sm, were recently converted from a large old Sicilian farmhouse into self catering apartments. They are bright and airy with all modern amenities. Tramontana sleeps six. Scirocco sleeps four. Maestrale sleeps 2. Fresh bed linen and towels are supplied weekly. Casale Galati itself is located in a wonderful green environment with numerous paths for strolling and hiking. The property covers some 29 acres and is surrounded by olive groves, almond and some pistachio trees. perfectly positioned for visiting the Greek temples of Agrigento, Selinunte and Segesta. Our quality self catering accommodation is situated on the hill of Sciacca, at only two Km from the very famous Natural Steam Vents of San Calogero. We are 5 Km out of town and 7 Km from the best beaches of the south west cost of Sicily. Within five minutes drive you will find restaurants, pubs, banks, supermarkets, post office, hairdressers, museum, churches and other visitor attractions. Bus stop right outside our narrow road.

The property is gate-accessed, so privacy is assured.

Living Area

The grand villa was once a family home to the Lo Bianco and Sorge family and is still run by the Lo Biancos. It has recently been converted into apartments but still has a family feel to it and you can find some antique paintings and pictures belonging to the family.
It is extremely quiet and peaceful with stunning picturesque views of both the rolling countryside, filled with beautiful vineyards, and the Mediterranean sea.
It offers spacious fully furnished one and two bedroom apartments with well equipped kitchen and private bathroom.
The apartments, Tramontana and Scirocco, each measuring 80 sqm, and Maestrale 45 sqm, are of the highest standard with all modern amenities, and you are guaranteed a friendly atmosphere with a typical Italian welcome.
You can stroll through the grounds on a romantic walk, or have fun exploring the hills that are supposed to have held the buried treasure of the local monks.
Children can run free and explore.

Kitchen Facilities

Housekeeping is provided prior to arrival and after departure. Fresh towels on the 6th day. The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, pots and pans and kettle. The kitchen is WELL STOCKED with all the utensils/pots and pans a cook may need; as well as with salt, pepper, sugar, standard spices, plastic wrap, aluminum foil, wine glasses, cork screw, tea pot, kettle, garlic press, roasting pan, paper towels, dishwashing liquid, garbage bags, dish cloths and towels, etc---everything you will need for your vacation.

Nearest Big Supermarket 3km away -fishing and tourist port 4 km -The beaches, only 4 km out of town. -Fresh fish as good wine can be purchased at the shopping centre for reasonable price. -Greengrocers baker's shop and butchers for your daily needs. An excellent Saturday open market is situated inside the historic walled San Michele. -Palermo 99 km, the Greek temple of Segesta 90 Km, the Greek city of Selinunte and Eraclea Minoa with superb beaches (~35 Km), -Agrigento (~60 Km), -Trapani(~99 Km), -Erice (~110 Km), -Lo zingaro (~95 Km) the marine natural reserve of -San Vito Lo Capo (~95 Km)and its white sandy beach , -Motia the ancient Phoenician city of (on a small island) (~85 Km) -Piazza Armerina (200 km) Villa del Casale fabulous Roman mosaics and Mount Etna (300 km), are well worth the journey. You can also take a short scenic drive to the nearby town of Caltabellotta (~20 km) an old village nestled in the mountains surrounding Sciacca at an altitude of 1,000 metres, the Matrice church, the Castello Mount and the Hermitage (13th century) with a stunning views over the coast and the valley for miles away.
