Ciao, Debs.......
We got back Saturday afternoon to 26 degree heaven but is now dull and cold......... and now raining all the time......
I would like to say it was a pleasure to meet you both too but.......
as privileged guinea pigs for Peter and Debbie we can’t do justice to these individuals and their excellent appartamenti. To put yourself out to the degree they did and with such a friendly and helpful demeanour was appreciated and unexpected. As first time visitors to the north side of the island and fed up of the costa packet resort of Alghero I wanted to explore more of the real and beautiful island and armed with the lonely planet book and Debbie’s' email address we hooked up. From the base in Castelsardo we used the location to our advantage by travelling much of the north coast almost all the way over to Santa Teresa on the north east right over to Stintino on the northwest peninsula. There are great beaches in all directions and half the fun is finding them.

I had one regret from this holiday and that was spending the first of my two weeks in Alghero and wished I had spent both weeks staying in Castelsardo. You have the best of both worlds here, you can stay local and walk the impressive town of Castelsardo with its plentiful restaurants and shops or take a car and explore the beautiful surrounds without being too far from a clean, comfortable and welcoming apartment and watch the sun go down from the balcony, directly catching the sun from early afternoon until it dips only just behind the headland at sunset. I will be looking back on my stay at the apartments until I book again next year...... so in summary
the apartments are welcoming, fully equipped, clean, comfortable, and a real home from home.... book now before I do again.....

Hi Debs,
Thank you for your email - we had a really good holiday. Not sure how much you want for your website, but here are a few words....(please feel free to edit if too long!).

The welcome we received from Debs and Pete was exceptional. The apartment was great - comfortable and everything you need is there.
Situated in a quiet road, close to the Marina and a 10 minute walk to the town it was the ideal location. It was easy to get to many sites in the north west of the island but a car is recommended to make sure you make the most of the numerous beautiful beaches and historical sites.
The food and wine was wonderful and the locals were very friendly. If you want a peaceful location, but not too distant from restaurants, bars and shops, this is the ideal place to stay.

The dog and the shoes story has made everyone laugh.....I think Kathy has forgiven him now. Again many thanks for your welcome, really hope this venture is as successful as you clearly deserve.

Totally agree with Paula's comments, really have nothing to add ( I think she is after a job as a travel writer !). Sardinia is a beautiful island, very relaxed - good beaches, scenery, food and wine ( what more do you need?)

Stella (2 bedroom apartment 14/08/07 – 21/08/07

Hi Debs and Pete,

We are back safe and sound and I slept most of yesterday! A couple of bags were over and we had to re-distribute some of the contents. It was strange not to leave the suitcases at check-in as we had to take them to another queue to pass them through the scanner and then leave them. After all this and passport check we queued straight onto the plane and arrived early.


We all loved staying there, it was a very comfortable appartment and accommodated all our needs.

I would like to say a HUGE thank you on behalf of us all. You have been really helpful and kind and made our stay even better. I will definitely pass on recommendations to friends and give them your website. Thank you also for the info on the language courses. I will look into it. Give our regards to Pietro and wish him well.

We were thoroughly satisfied with the apartment. It was more equipped than
we were expecting and very clean and modern.

The location was great.

Sardinia and the resort were lovely and everything we were expecting it
would be.

Our hosts were also very welcoming and helpful - and it was great to have a
guidebook to hand.


September 2007 – Paz 1 bedroom apartment

Hi Debs

Since I had a few spare mins thought I’d write to say how wonderful our stay was:

I initially booked the apartment because it seemed to offer the best of everything – a great location, brilliant facilities and of course a great price. In reality when we got to the apartment it was even more wonderful then I had hoped for and was fully equipped with a cd player, dvd player and tv – as well as some dvds to watch!!

It was only a few mins drive away from the beach and the town where there are a vast amount of great eateries and stunning views.

What made the difference however was the personal touches – an apartment no matter how nice is still an apartment but Debs and Peter had gone to the trouble of providing fresh milk, tea, coffee, fruit and some wine as a welcome and more than that Debs had left us maps and guidebooks which came in so much use! As well as her personal knowledge with which she talked us round all the best sites, the overrated tourist things etc to make us feel that we really knew what we wanted to see and when.

As if this wasn’t enough when I had to go to the police station to report some money lost/stolen Debs and Peter went out of their way to drive us to the station to act as translators as the police spoke no English. They did this not once, but twice!

If you stay at the cala del porto apartments owned by Debs and Peter you will have the best welcome you are likely to find the greatest start to what turned out to be one of my favourite holidays. The apartment was clean and in perfect condition and was surpassed only by the welcome we received.
