Property Description

La Bastide des Lavandierés is located in the village of Canaules deep in the Languedoc wine producing region of the south of France . Originally constructed during the 19th century (1850) it has previously been used as a small hotel as well as a café & a night club . Following extensive renovations & rebuilding during 2007 & the early months of 2008 this wonderfully preserved stone building has now been converted into seven luxury apartments with private off-road parking , children's play area & large 12m x 6m swimming pool .

Canaules is a typical French village - small but full of character . It is close to a number of larger villages & small towns as well as numerous vineyards - many of which welcome visitors . Guests are very welcome to come & check out our own vineyard at Domaine d'Espere just over a mile away . Here you can sample our wines & depending on the time of year maybe even get to do a little work on the vines . You can also buy some wine if you wish to drink during your holiday or to take home at the end of your stay . Nimes , Montpellier & Marseilles are just 3 of the cities which are easily reached as well as the beaches on the coast or the skiing in the Cevennes. The seven large apartments in La Bastide des Lavandieres have been completed & furnished to a very high standard with all the facilities & amenities you would expect to find in any top class accommodation. (4 other similar apartments available in same building + 2 larger apartments also )

Ground floor apartment Fully tiled throughout featuring traditional Languedoc ceilings. Large seating area with Couch & full size sofa bed . 32 TV ( French & UK Channels ). Dining area leads onto seperate private terrace . (Most apartments in the building have either a private terrace or balcony) .

Solid pine kitchen with all modern appliances including dish washer , microwave , electric cooker , toaster , kettle , coffee maker etc

Outside

Large private terrace leading onto either paved area with seating at the front of the building or access to swimming pool . Large pool suitable for adults & children . The pool area is fully tiled & enclosed by secure fencing & a gate . Also in the pool area you will find a poolhouse with changing & toilet facilities as well as an outdoor shower . Also childrens play area with swings , a slide & a climbing rope

Suitability

Because of our quiet rural location close however to larger towns & cities ( Ales - 15 minutes / Nimes 30 minutes / Montpellier 50 minutes ) we are ideally located for a family holiday . Our ground floor accommodation would suit children or elderly people

Nearby activities include hillwalking , cycling , golf , tennis , fishing , river & lake swimming & horse riding . There are also a large number of vineyards in the area many of which welcome visitors .

Other Information

Because of the 3 feet thick stone walls & floors in the building we have found that there is no requirement for air conditioning . All of this stone keeps the apartment cool even during the hottest of days & warm during the colder Winter months
