This is a privately owned 1 bedroom apartment in the highly desireable complex of Yucca Park. We bought it in 2007, primarily for our own use as we visit Tenerife 2 or 3 times a year. As we bought it for ourselves it is equiped to a high standard,as we like our home comforts when on holiday. When looking for a property we visited dozens of different locations within the Playa de Las Americas area, but none seemed just right until we saw Yucca Park - it just ticked all the right boxes for us, and we believe it will for you too.

The complex consists of 98 apartments, so visitors are not just one of hundreds of anonymous faces you see around, but real people - above all this is a friendly complex. While being near many bars & resturants it remains a quiet and peaceful place - ideal if you want to chill-out at the pool, have a relaxing drink or snack served by Colin & Gaynor who run the poolside bar, a 2 minute stroll takes you to the beach, or 5 minutes in taxi takes you to central Americas for a more lively evening in the clubs & bars.

Living Area

The Living Room contains 3 seater sofa (containing 2 single sofa-beds, which can also be set as a double bed), 32 LCD TV (with local TV and some limited satellite channels - ), DVD Player (DivX compatible) with generous selection of DVDs, Hi-Fi System (with selection of audio CDs), Sideboard containing games, DVDs, audio CDs etc, ceiling fan, cupboard with ironing board, iron & mops etc, armchair and a breakfast bar to the kitchen.

NEW for 2008 - full British Terrestrial TV Channels - BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, Ch4, Ch5 and 2 sports stations featuring all top European and Premier football matches

The Bathroom

Fully fitted bathroom, with bath/shower, sink, WC, Bidet & illuminated mirror/cabinet. The bathroom is being totally replaced in May 2008.

The Bedroom has a double bed, tallboy style chest of drawers, large fitted wardrobe (containing FREE TO USE security safe), bed reading lights. ceiling fan, dressing table with mirror and French Windows to small garden area. A hairdryer is also provided.

The Bathroom is fully fitted, with bath/shower, sink, WC, Bidet & illuminated mirror/cabinet. The bathroom was totally replaced in May 2008.

Kitchen Facilities

The Kitchen is a fully fitted American style kitchen, comprising of 4 ring electric hob, electric oven, fridge, kettle, microwave, toaster, and all crockery & utensils etc. It has been fully refurbished, including all new appliances, units, tiles etc.

Outside

The Patio is very sunny, with the part nearest the apartment always shaded - giving the best of both worlds. It has a table & 4 chairs - perfect for al fresco dining. There is also a removable/foldable clothes drying frame. Built in 1989 and renovated in 2003, the vast majority of the 98 apartments on this complex were timeshare, although they are now under private ownership. This is one of few apartments in the Yucca Park that has never been timeshare, and we have no association with any timeshare operators, so no meetings, salesmen etc - this is a wholly privately owned apartment. The complex includes the following facilities : * 3 swimming pools, including a children's pool. * Poolside bar which is run by Colin & Gaynor. It does a good selection of breakfasts, snacks, meals etc. as well as drinks. There are occasional quiz nights and other events in the evenings. * 24 hour security * Laundry * Rooftop solarium * Pool Tables * Car Hire facilities * Squash Courts * Luggage Room (ideal if your flight is later in the day) * Internet access in the Reception area * Supermarket only a hundred yards along the road.

The above prices are per apartment (not per person), and based on 2 people sharing. Any 3rd or 4th person costs £25 per person per week extra.

Christmas / New Year - minimum booking is 2 weeks, all other times min is 7 days.

Suitability

The privately owned apartment is suitable for all ages, especially families with young children, older couples/people, in fact almost everybody, except young groups of party goers. At night, the complex is a quiet, despite being near many bars and restaurants. To keep it that way we don not accept young single sex bookings, especially Stag or Hen parties.

Local Activities

Fanabe is the classier part of Tenerife, while remaining a short walk to most facilities. It has has plenty of bars & restaurants, but remains quieter then central Las Americas. It is served by the local bus service (nearest bus-stop is less than 1km away) and also has a medical centre nearby.
There is a long sandy beach, and the twice weekly market is only a short walk away.

Just some of the many attractions in the area are :

* The beach - roughly 200m away
* Various water sports are available
* Ten-Pin Bowling Alley - the only alley in South Tenerife is about 100m away
* Many bars & restaurants are within easy reach
* Various shopping centres from cheap & cheerful to the extremely upmarket
* Golf Course within 4km
* Veronicas for the top nightspots is about 2km (5 minutes by taxi or 30 minute walk)
* See the Whales boat-trips

Other Information

My name is Rikki Gray, and in 2007 my partner, Laura, and I bought our apartment in Yucca Park. Our main reason for buying is that we visit the island at least twice each year, so it made sense. Both Laura & I have full time jobs and renting out the apartment is my (fairly time consuming) hobby. During 2008 we have re-invested almost 70% of all income in making various improvements to the apartment.

We recently spent 10 nights (March 08) at Yucca Park and enjoyed it very much. We found the apartment to be comfortable and thought it be very good value for money. We especially enjoyed having breakfast on the patio every morning. Yucca Park is well located for supermarkets and restaurants.
We hope to return next year.
