You will always have something to do in this great part of the world - and can even just relax if you wish on one of the many beautiful beaches. Save money and rent your Mexico accommodation direct from the property owner, you will find apartments and other accommodation types almost anywhere in Mexico, for example Puerto Vallarta, Akumal, La Paz Puerto Penasco, and Punta el Custodio just to mention a few as there are many others. There is a wide variety of property to choose from like condominiums, villas, B&B's and bungalows, which are all fully contained with ample space for all.
There are millions of things to do in Mexico like snorkelling, and scuba diving amongst some of the greatest coral reefs. If a nature lover you can take a walk in the magnificent rainforests and jungles. The diversity is vast in that you can explore the deserts to a snow capped mountains. The beaches are awesome and you really a must take a stroll along the coastline. You will be spellbound by the ancient ruins left to us by the Mayans and Aztecs, besides what I have already mentioned there is lots more to explore. You can enjoy dog racing, theatre, opera, bull fighting and I could just go on and on and on, there is a list of never ending list of things to do in Mexico.
You will find around 50 distinct Indian cultures along with approximately a hundred million people living in Mexico. Spanish is the official language spoken and there are also different indigenous languages spoken. Many from outside Mexico have come to retire and benefit from the low cost of living as well as enjoy the superb climate.
Shops are plentiful and are all well priced. You will also encounter in every settlement so many street vendors offering a huge selection of food stuff as well as crafts. Mexico is not big on fashion but shopping is a rather pleasant outing, and you can end up spending on very unusual and beautiful crafts. Mexican restaurants are plenty and you get good value. The food is really excellent and you will experience rich and spicy cuisine. Of course there are regular food places, but then you will out on a superb traditional meal always served with tortillas. Always drink bottled water.
Now let us give you some Mexico information about some of the main attractions to visit - The Instituto de la Artesania Jalisciense which promotes and exhibits the states handicraft and is for state artisans, and you can purchase almost anything, all handmade. The city planetarium Centro de Ciencia v Technologia introduces science to the general population, and you can observe the stars on a Friday. And what would you say to a course in learning how to make the traditional drink "Tequila" at the Tequila Sauza and have a shot on the house and look out for the worm. Now let's visit something very extravagant like Frida's Museum this is exquisitely beautiful and is a definite must.
The National palace was the Viceroy's palace in colonial times and is now the government building. The beautiful murals were painted by a famous Mexican artist and you don't pay an entrance fee. You will see the platoon which guards the square, don't miss this opportunity. Then there is Chichen Itza which is the largest ruined city of the pre-Columbian Maya civilization, you will witness the most famous structure the Pyramid of Kukulcan as well as many Feathered Serpent sculptures, and you can saviour a great view at the top of the temple. There is still so much more to see and do - I can't keep up.
The Travel alert relating to the 2009-H1N1 influenza outbreak is no longer in effect. So it is now safe to travel in Mexico. You should not hail cabs in the street, rather call an official cab and take note of the taxi number as well as the name of the driver. Crime like in any other country also exists in Mexico, so do not be put off by what you read in newspapers etc. Just be aware and don't do foolish things like go and walk around remote areas on your own etc.
